Monday, A native of Marion County, she was a daughter of the late Odell and Loula Derham Lewis. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Contract Bridge Club and was a 1947 graduate of Limestone College. Survivors include her husband, Claude "Bud" Cole of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, The Honorable Joseph Derham Cole and Candace Carlson Cole, and Lewis Buchanan Cole and is Georgia Treen Cole, all of Spartanburg; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Crowley Cole, of Spartanburg; a sister, Jean Lewis Bane, of Mullins; 10 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Claude "Buddy' Cole III.

Mr. Coley was born on Sept. 30, 1929, to the late Kenneth R. and Mittie Jane Coley. He retired as a truck driver with Specter Red Ball Co.

and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. 23, 2004, at Magnolia Place, Spartanburg. He was a native of Spartanburg County, the son of the late William Carson and Keturah Harris Deck, and was the husband of the late Cornelia Balentine Deck. He was retired from Duke Power where he was employed for years, and was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church, Greer. He is survived by a daughter, Frankie Deck Humphries, of Spartanburg; a sister, Katherine D. Greenville, he was the son of Helen Pettett Dixon and the late Homer William Dixon. Mr. Dixon graduated from Greenville High School in 1961 and attended Clemson University. He was employed by CitiFinacial and previously was employed by Heilig-Myers and Towers Theatre. He was a charter member of John Knox Presbyterian Church.

The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive. Archibald T. Gallivan Charleston Archibald "Archie" Thomson Gallivan, 23, of 258-A Rutledge Charleston, died Feb. 23, 2004. Born in Greenville, he was the son of Gene Mills and Therese Thomson Gallivan.

After graduating high school, he attended Johnson and Wales Culinary Institute, Charleston. He was a self-employed construction contractor. He loved the outdoors, training dogs, woodworking and his saltwater aquariums. Archie was a lifelong St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Mary Kathryn Gallivan, currently at the College of Charleston; and his grandfather, Harold F. Gallivan of Greenville. Esther McKay Monroe Rockingham, N.C. Esther McKay Monroe, 78, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at her home. She was born on July 6, 1925, in Richmond County, the daughter of the late James L. and Thelma Marks McKay.

Monroe was retired legal secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Monroe Jr. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Feb.

Clyde David 'Dave' Morton York Clyde David "Dave" Morton, 59, of 202 Education Lane, York, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Dorn VA Hospital, Columbia. Born on Nov. 2, 1944, in Grove Station, he was a son of the late Clyde D. Morton and Pauline Timmons Morton.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, York, and was employed by the York County Sheriff's Department. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam era. After he returned from Vietnam, he joined the Augusta Road Fire Station. He spent 10 years with the S.C.

Highway Patrol. became chief of police for the city of York in 1983, serving until retirement in 1998. After a brief absence from York County, he returned and began working for the York County Sheriff's Department. He is survived by his spouse, Diane Westmoreland Morton, of York: daughters, Tracey Morton, of Donna Stickleather, of Charlotte, and Cindy Toney, of Tega Cay; a brother, A. Dr. John Randolph Parris, 80, died Feb. 23, 2004, at Allen Bennett Memorial Hospital. He was the widower of Gwendolyn McGinnis Parris. A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Clarence and Daisy Gilliam Parris, he was retired after operating his own dental practice in Greer for 36 years, and was a U.S.

Air Force veteran of World War II. Dr. Parris Surviving are a -Edith M. Ray Greer Edith May Miller Ray, 83, formerly of 7, 20th died Feb. 23, 2004, at National Health Care.

She was the widow of George Walker Ray Jr. A native of Inman, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Lloyd and Fernie Fay Horton Miller, was of the Pentecostal faith and was a retired employee of J.P. Stevens, Victor Plant. Surviving are two daughters, Vicki June Ray Payne, Greer, and Judi Fay Ray Field, of Travelers Rest; two sisters, Allyce Gail Metayer and Etta Louise Westmoreland, both of Greenville; four grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Wade A. Watson Jr. Anderson Wade Allen Watson 85, of Foothills Presbyterian Home at Easley, formerly of Anderson, and husband of Janet West Watson, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Anderson Area Medical Center. He was born in Anderson on Aug.

25, 1918, the son of the late Wade A. Watson Sr. and Caroline Elsie Gray Watson. Mr. Watson was a 1940 graduate of The Citadel and was a veteran of World War II, U.S.

Army, where he held the rank of captain. He was a survivor of Pearl Harbor. He was former president and chairman of the board of Perpetual Savings and Loan Association. He was a former city councilman in Anderson, and was a former school trustee and board chairman of School District No. 5.

He was a member and elder of Central Presbyterian Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Janet Watson, are a son, Charles West and his wife, Cynthia C. Watson, of Columbia; a daughter, Caroline Watson Green, and her husband, Stephen L. Green, of Greensboro, N.C.; a brother, a Jim Gray Watson, and his wife, Julia Anderson Watson, of Anderson; four grandchildren, James Norman Lyons, and his wife, Lisa E. Lyons, Justin S.

Marjorie Ruth Wehmeyer Salem Marjorie Ruth Wehmeyer, of 1 Frigate Drive, Salem, died Monday, Feb.

23, 2004, at her home. Mrs. Wehmeyer was born in Detroit, daughter of the late Harry Elliot and Marjorie Mae Brown Stickel. She lived in Grosse Pointe Park until her marriage in 1951. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 1949 with a degree in special education, and taught in Battle Creek, Dayton, Ohio, and Grosse Pointe, Mich.

She was a member and deacon of Seneca Presbyterian Church, was a longtime member of the American Association of University Women and was a charter member of the Lake and Hills Garden Club of Keowee Key. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, David; a son, Jeffrey Mark Wehmeyer, and his wife, Susan, of Kettering, Ohio; and two daughters, Kristin Sue Palmer, and her husband, David, of Ann Arbor, and Lisa Kathryn Ryan, and her husband, Michael, of Kingwood, Texas; six grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Lehr, in Muskegon, Mich. Two brothers, Harry and Frederick, predeceased Mrs. Wehmeyer. Ruth was a loving and caring person who will be missed dearly by her family and many friends.

A memorial service will be at the Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at 2 p.m., officiated by the Revs. Sally and Stuart Fulton. Graveside services will be held at later date in Ann Arbor, Mich. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Organ Fund of Seneca Presbyterian Church, 115 S.
