Thanks to everyone who read my most recent post and participated in my fun poll! 🤓📊 The majority nailed it, I had a run-in with the Paid For Your Say (PFYS) brigade and it was FASCINATING.🧐 Who caught ‘em – tech or humans? Moderators FTW! The brilliant and talented Monique Madara and I recently partnered on a unique qual study and upon learning we’d be in PFYS "hot zones", Miami and Atlanta, we implored our client to implement pre-screenings to safeguard the study because the odds of them scamming into it were extremely high. How’d we do it? Zoom pre-screenings, which are clearly a necessity before confirming respondents for qual studies. Shoutout to Katrina Noelle who was among the first to make Zoom pre-screenings a standard line item on all her qual studies. What happened next? Monique caught the BIGGEST fish 🐠🎣-- one of the key PFYS ringleaders showed up in her Zoom pre-screenings, whom she immediately recognized. Her other catch, a 3-year PFYS member, tripped up by mentioning that she was part of the organization. My PFYS fish was a bit more slippery. 🐟 As I watched him light-up and nod his head when I casually mentioned PFYS, he caught himself as he was starting to say yes. He quickly shifted into stating that he had access to a large network of people he could tap into if we needed more respondents. AND, he asked if he would get additional compensation for helping us. Nothing says PFYS like a money grab 💰🤑--they do not miss an opportunity! 😩However, within a day or two, word was out on us, per the screenshot. They are infuriatingly efficient and strategic and are always protecting the interests of the PFYS community. I learned quite a bit from this study, which I will share in the next few days.🚨 Stay vigilant and keep your eyes on the prize -- respondent quality! 🚨

On August 14, Judge Corrigan for the Middle District of Florida, in Properties of the Villages vs. FTC, found that the FTC did not have the authority to enter its planned Noncompete Rule, and entered an order granting an injunction as to the plaintiff only. Like the Texas federal court in Ryan, the court declined to grant a nationwide injunction. With yesterday's decision and the recent decision in ATS Tree Services denying the plaintiff's motion for preliminary injunction in part due to the FTC's likelihood of success on the merits, the only remaining legal obstacle to the implementation of the FTC Noncompete Rule is the Ryan court's merits decision on the Rule, expected no later than August 30, 2024.These developments make it imperative that businesses across industry sectors including, energy, financial services, health care, manufacturing, technology, telecommunications, retail, and hospitality, to evaluate improvements to existing plans to protect competitive and confidential information.Read more: https://lnkd.in/eKNMDeicBy Theresa Sprain and Edward Lanquist

Recently, one of our valued clients received a domain name registration letter that claimed their domain was on the brink of expiration, urging them to renew through a provided website for a substantial fee. While this tactic is not illegal, it's a common ploy to fear-monger and prompt domain registrar switches. The letter, often appearing official, clarifies 'This is not a bill'—a statement intended to protect the sender legally. The heart of the matter lies in the inflated renewal cost and additional offers for related domains, tactics often used to exploit those unaware of standard registration rates. These deceptive practices can lead individuals to switch registrars unintentionally. At ProFusion, we strive to provide our clients with knowledge, ensuring they make informed decisions to safeguard their online assets. If you've received a letter like this in the mail, reach out to us before taking action! #scammers #domainregistration #onlinescam #domainprotection #onlinesecurity #digitalmarketing #customwebsite #websitetips #marketingtips #marketingservices

If you registered an LLC in Florida, expect to receive all kind of SCAM letters and emails that look super official and offer you services at a sharp cost that you can either get for free such as the EIN number or for a much smaller fee such as filing the Annual Report or getting a certificate of status. Please be careful! To register your LLC in Florida or file for the yearly annual report, go straight to sunbiz.org, it will cost you around $138 (the certificate of status is optional, in most cases you don’t need one). Once you get the confirmation that the name was approved and you are listed on Sunbiz, go to www.irs.gov and click on Apply for an EIN. It is pretty straightforward and free of charge.

📢 Information from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA)The only person with access to your SAM.gov registration (your entity administrator) hits the lottery; quits, effective immediately; and retires some place tropical. You have no one else to access SAM.gov and manage your registration, so it expires. Without that renewal, you cannot do business with the federal government. What do you do? You then undergo a rather time-consuming process to add more people as new entity administrators, that’s what you do. TO add more people, please visit: https://secure.login.gov/The process can take some time and effort (see our information for details: https://lnkd.in/eKqws5_8), but it’s meant to keep your entity safe from those who want to impersonate it. That’s why you may have to:- Complete entity registration paperwork.- Obtain notarized letters and pay the associated fees.- Spend time on the phone with the service desk. But that’s just us using our imagination for now. Ask your entity administrator to sign in and add another one today. To sign in: https://secure.login.gov/

A valuable domain name has been removed from my account at the ICANN certified domain name registrar Epik LLC without my knowledge or consent. Upon gaining unauthorized access to and control of my domain name it was transferred to another ICANN certified registrar again without me being informed and without my consent. It's no secret that Epik has been besieged with problems for a long time. A quick search of the Internet reveals a litany of complaints against the registrar and its founder Rob Monster containing allegations ranging from operating an escrow service without a licence to misrepresentation & misappropriation of trust funds & along list of other nefarious actions.I maintained my business relationship with Epik THROUGHOUT the companies trials tribulations & subsequent takeover because of a personal relationship I have had with its founder Rob Monster who I always considered an ally. Remaining loyal to Rob and to Epik has not been easy. I too was affected by the companies inadequacies. I paid for new domain name registrations which Epik appeared to have processed only to find out that my orders had not been processed. I paid for renewals which Epik claimed to have processed when in fact they had not processed the renewals. Many people have reached out to me saying they lost domains at Epik because of Epik's failure to renew their orders in a timely fashion leading to the expiration and loss of their domains I had funds on deposit at Epik which I could not use effectively because of Epik's noncompliance with their obligations as a registrar - they simply could not process orders on behalf of their paying customers.I experienced all these things yet remained loyal to Epik because loyalty is something people need in the worst of time. Being loyal is easy when everything is running smoothly. I remained loyal to Rob Monster because thats what real friends do. They give people a hand up when they really need it. But now that a valuable domain name has disappeared from my account on the watch of the supposedly new and improved Epik's I can no longer allow my friendship with the company's former CEO to blind me to the reality of the fact that there is something terribly wrong at EpikAs a result of the company's problems it was apparently sold to a new owner who incorporated the NEW Epik Wyoming a jurisdiction which allows directors to remain anonymous. Despite claims they are committed to transparency the NEW EPIK doesn't want you to know who they are! The law allows it so what's the problem? The problem is that the service issues I experienced with the OLD EPIK were MINOR compared the problems I am having with the NEW EPIK. This is cause for grave concern considering the NEW Epik was incorporated to clean up the mess created by the OLD EPIK. The loss of my domain name & the manner in which Epik has chosen to handle it is the last straw. I am withdrawing my support and patronage of Epik & wanted the domain community to know
