In Oct 2021, John Lewis released their ‘let life happen campaign’. The TV ad featured a boy making a mess throughout his house.The advert was quickly pulled because the product didn’t actually do what was being advertised. John Lewis had created an advert of a child creating ‘deliberate damage and mess’ for an insurance product that didn’t cover ‘deliberate damage and mess’Surely a quick sense check could have prevented this? Was the advert concept ever tested in front of a panel of real people? I suspect NOT!Get some perspectives, gather opinions, do some research.
